At Summit 3D, we strive for excellence, but we understand that sometimes a product may not meet your expectations. To ensure fair business practices, all returns are subject to the following strictly enforced conditions.
1. The 7-Day "Change of Mind" Cooling-Off Period
In accordance with Section 44 of the ECTA, you have 7 days after receiving your order to cancel it for any reason.
Condition: The item must be unopened, unused, and in its original sealed packaging.
Costs: You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods to us.
Refund: We will refund the purchase price within 30 days, minus the original shipping costs incurred by Summit 3D.
2. General Return Requirements
For any return to be processed (whether for a defect or change of mind), the following must be met:
Authorization: You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number by emailing info@summit3d.co.za before shipping anything back. Packages sent without an RMA will be rejected.
Packaging: The product must be returned in its original manufacturer packaging. This includes all internal foam, cables, tools, and free samples (e.g., sample filament).
Proof of Purchase: A valid tax invoice must accompany the return.
3. Restocking Fees (Opened Items)
If an item is returned within the 7-day period but the packaging has been opened, Summit 3D reserves the right to charge a Restocking Fee of 15% to 25% of the purchase price.
Why? Once a 3D printer or high-precision electronic item is opened, it can no longer be sold as "New." This fee covers the cost of inspection, testing, and the loss in resale value.
4. Defective Goods (CPA Warranty)
If a product is defective within the first 6 months, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
Exclusion - User Error: 3D printing is a technical skill. Issues caused by bed leveling errors, nozzle clogs (due to poor quality filament), incorrect voltage settings, or unauthorized firmware "flashing" are not considered manufacturing defects and will not be covered.
Assessment: We reserve the right to inspect the goods before a refund or replacement is issued. This assessment can take 5 to 10 working days.
5. Non-Returnable ItemsThe following items cannot be returned or refunded unless there is a clear manufacturing defect:
Consumables: Opened rolls of filament, resin, or nozzles.
Software: Digital licenses or activated software keys.
Custom/Special Orders: Items ordered specifically at a customer’s request that are not part of our standard stock.
Sale/Clearance Items: Sold "as is" and are not eligible for "change of mind" returns.
6. Shipping & Risk
Safe Transport: The risk of damage during return transit rests with the Customer. We strongly recommend using a reputable courier with insurance. If an item arrives at our warehouse damaged, the return will be rejected.
Refund Method: All refunds are processed via the original payment method (e.g., back to the credit card or EFT). We do not provide cash refunds.
7. How to Initiate a ReturnEmail info@summit3d.co.za with your Order Number and photos of the item/packaging.
a. If approved, you will receive an RMA and the return warehouse address.
b. Pack the item securely and ship it to us.
c. Once inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
